Mandala art has been used throughout the world,  Tibetan Buddhism has used mandala art for thousands of years, Navajo sand painters use them in their healing rites, many Native Americans us the Medicine Wheel to connect to earth energies and the wisdom of nature.

A mandala can be described as any form of circular, or square geometric design that contains symbols of a person’s inner self, guiding principles, overall ideas about life and the world.

In drawing a mandala there is a central point or focus within the circle, a support for the meditating person.

The significance of objects within a mandala are conveyed by shape, size, and color; they can be abstract designs, photos, specific drawings of people, places, and ideas that are central to a person’s life.

These mandalas came about because of a dream I had.  I chose the computer as a medium because at the time I was learning how to use photoshop and illustrator.  I used my own photography for most of them and drew some of them in illustrator.
